This educational series is presented by Seminole Behavioral Healthcare as part of its commitment toward a greater community understanding and response to those suffering from behavioral disorders. It is one of six components of Mental Health First Aid. The objectives of this course are as follows:

1. Understand the current basic knowledge surrounding the causes and treatment of eating disorders
2. Understand the signs and symptoms of anorexia nervosa
3. Understand the signs and symptoms of bulimia nervosa
4. Understand the signs and symptoms of binge eating disorder
5. Describe the risk factors associated with eating disorders
6. Describe cultural factors contributing to eating disorders
7. Describe how to respond as a lay-person to a person with an eating disorder
8. Describe treatment considerations as a clinician treating eating disorders
9. Know the basic resources in Central Florida for a person with an eating disorder
